It was in pretty bad condition: saturated in dust and sticky with some kind of soap or chemical residue. Being a city resident, you've got to keep your eye on dust in the home, as it can get out of control quite quickly. Not knowing how to save this carpet, I vacuumed it a total of 7 times with my trustee Dyson unloading 5 buckets full of dust. I had never seen anything like how dirty this carpet was, each time I vacuumed up came more dust but still the carpet was not improving!!

His ability brought this ruined carpet back to an almost new condition!!! In addition to the much cleaner and healthier air and carpet, I was totally amazed by Mark's ability to get out some really tough stains - including oil based stains! Facts You Need To Know About Pet Urine In Your Carpeting:
Urine deposited on carpet does not stay there, it penetrates the fibres and contaminates both the backing of the carpet and the flooring material below the carpet. Often, without your knowing, pets will urinate continually in the same general location. Urine odours can permeate from the floor, be it cement or wood, from the tack strip, and even from the framework of the house behind the walls.  As the urine dries, the liquid evaporates but the urine crystals become even more concentrated and pungent. Simple cleaning will not remove this odour. Until recently, there was not a product available that was effective at removing urine odours. When P.U.R.T. contacts the source of the odour, it immediately begins a chemical reaction that destroys the urine odour.

How P.U.R.T. Works

• The source and severity of the odour are determined, then the carpet will be rinsed and extracted with a hot water rinse to remove the bulk of the urine crystals.
• In worst cases, the carpet is pulled back in the suspected areas to reveal the extent of the damage.*
• If necessary, the pad will be removed and replaced.*
• An odour blocking shellac may be applied to the subfloor if determined necessary.*
• P.U.R.T. will then be applied heavily to the tack strip, the sub floor, the baseboards and the carpet backing. It is necessary to apply this product heavily enough to dampen all areas affected by the urine. *
• Over the next 24 to 36 hours, the ingredients in P.U.R.T. will react with the urine, and break down the odour causing components.

Stain Removal Tips

1. Act Quickly - The longer the stain is allowed to remain, the more chance it has to set.
2. Know what kind of stain you are working on as well as the type of fabric or surface it is on so you can choose the best product. View the list below to see which product to use for water or oil based spots.
3. Remove as much excess stain as you can by blotting, scraping or brushing whatever will come off. DO NOT rub it in.
4. Test all fabrics and carpets before cleaning by spraying a small amount of Chem-Dry Professional Strength Spot Remover or Chem-Dry Grease & Oil Remover on a hidden area, blot dry and observe for 10 minutes. Make sure there is not carpet colour removal onto the cloth and that, when dry, there is not a visible discolouration in the area you cleaned.
5. Work from the outside edge of the stain to the inside to keep the stain from spreading.
6. Call Chem-Dry for expert spot & stain removal if these efforts do not work.
7. Have a Chem-Dry Professional apply our Powerguard Protector with every cleaning to give you the best chance for removing stains.

We advise that Mark has been cleaning our couch at home for some years and can honestly

say his work is of an extremely high quality. He really pays attention to detail and will work

hard to eliminate a trouble spot where possible.

Recently when he carried out out the annual clean of the couch which is regularly stained by

all sorts of things by our 4 and 5 year olds, he also carried out a couch clean for my sister who

lives nearby. Her couch had not been cleaned for about 7 years and with two young children

the couch had taken a real beating and was badly stained. Mark was apprehensive about the

end result but with some elbow work the couch came up as good as new and both my sister

and her husband were most impressed with the outcome.

2. It is essential to vacuum your area rugs every few days to minimize the amount of long term build up of dirt and debris in your beautiful floor coverings.
3. Ensure you have a suitable comb or rake to brush the pile of your rugs on a regular basis to ensure maximum fibre resiliency for the life of your investment. Combing the pile of the piece will also brighten and beautify the vivid colours in your area rugs when company is coming!
4. Where possible, try to prevent prolonged exposure to sunlight which could cause sun fading, permanently damaging and devaluing your fine area rugs.
